My
camera is a Sony DCR-TRV900. This is a 3-chip,
miniDV camcorder with a 52mm, 12X optical zoom
lense. I am able to fit the 11 hour NP-F950
battery in my housing and still have room for
a wide-angle lense. This is an excellent camcorder
for u/w video as it has a 4 lux low light rating.

My
housing is a Dolphin Pro. It uses “Lance”
control for Power ON/Off; Record; Focus; Wide
and Telephoto. The housing is tested to 200
feet. It will accommodate any of the Sony TRV
model camcorders. I can fit a Sony VCL-0752H
x0.7 wide angle lense on the from of my TRV900
and an 11 hour battery on the back and still
have some wiggle-room in the housing. Using
the smaller Sony NP-F330 battery, I have even
been able to fit a Casio EV-570
LCD color television in the housing, to use
as a monitor. You can find out more about the
Dolphin Pro here: http://www.oceanbrite.com/dolpro4.htm. |

My
lighting system is a bit home made. I mounted
two Underwater Kinetics Light Canon 100 HID
lights on an aluminum tray. This tray dovetails
into the bottom of my housing. The UK Light
Canon 100 is a general purpose light and not
designed specifically for video; however, by
inserting “holographic” filters
in front of each lense, the beam angle is spread
to 100 degrees. These filters, and the dual
Light Canon 100 rigs are available here:

I
rigged up a filter holder on the front of the
camera. This way I can switch underwater between
the Amphibico OAFS300 blue water filter and
the OAFs3301 green water filter–or, use
no filter at all if I am using lights. In the
photo to the left, you see the filter partially
removed. Any cyan filter should work. The above-mentioned
filters are actually URPro filters sold by Amphibico.
You can find information on URPro filters here:

In
this photo, the filter is completely in place.
For the green water we get in the Laguna Beach
area, I find the best results come from using
the Amphibico OAFS3300 blue water filter, even
though the manufacturer recommends the green
water filter. I shoot with ambient light and
no filter from 0-5'foot depth. From 6'–about
65' feet I find the blue water filter does an
excellent job of replacing the lost reds. Below
65' I take out the filter and use lights. You
can find information on Amphibico filters here:

My
editing system is from ProMax. It is a dual
Pentium 3, 1GHz machine running Premiere 6.0.
with a Canopus breakout box. I have (2) 75GB
internal hard drives for video storage, and
a 15GB C:drive. For making VCD’s, I have
a 1x-40X CD-R drive and use Roxio Easy CD Creator
5 Platinum. For DVD burning, I have a Pioneer
AO5 DVD-R/RW and use Sonic DVDit. You can learn
more about ProMax here: http://www.promax.com/. |

In
each UK Light Canon 100, I use (8) NiMH C-cells,
1.2V; 3800MAh. To recharge them, I use the
“Again and Again” Model CC-4H
charger. I bought both these items from Sterlingteck.
You can view their products at:
